Microsoft appears determined to make its Socl (pronounced social) search-based social network available to as many users out there as possible, and the company decided to release mobile clients for the service, to help it in its pursuit.

With these clients on their devices, mobile phone users out there will be able to enjoy the same capabilities previously available through the web portal alone, such as the option to create, collect, and share content that they love.

Starting today, Socl is available to all Windows Phone 8 users out there, as well as to those who own Android-based devices, as long as they have Android 2.3.3 or newer loaded on them.

With Socl, users will have the possibility to create collages and funny memes in seconds, while also being able to share these creations on Socl, as well as on other favorite social networks.

“From rich visual collages to short animated media and memes, express yourself through posts that take seconds to create, collect and share on Socl, as well as Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, and Twitter,” Microsoft notes in the application’s description.

At the same time, Socl enables users to come up with visual responses (“riffs”) for existing content, snap photos, and share them on Socl, and organize content they like the most in collections.

Furthermore, the mobile clients will also provide users with the possibility to receive notifications about community activity on the content they love, while also enabling them to connect with new and interesting people worldwide.

With Socl, Microsoft is aiming at providing users with a service that is actually complementary to the various social networks out there, though the service appears more like a competitor to these destinations.

Those of you interested in learning more on what it has to offer to them should head over to the Socl website. They can also download Socl for Android or Socl for Windows Phone to see what the mobile clients can offer.
