Microsoft Launches Search Tool for Companies

Today, Microsoft announced a business version of the software that allows a faster search of documents, email content and other types of information saved on the hard drive. This solution is free of charge and comes after Microsoft users have complained for years about the difficulty of searching
for information stored on their desktops, especially inside Word files and emails.

The software will feel similar to Microsoft's consumer offering for searching files on desktop computers, but this product is conceived so that corporate technology executives can install it easily on many computers simultaneously, and better control how this tool is used.

Microsoft is finally reacting to users' requests after many of them had already switched to alternative solutions provided by search giants such as Yahoo and Google. This is the trend at least until Microsoft Vista arrives, which promises to offer a far better search capability.
