Microsoft has just announced its high-end Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone Nokia Lumia 930 is now available for purchase in Romania. The handset can be purchased from several online retailers and is expected to be offered by at least two major carriers in the country.

Windows Phone fans who wish to purchase the handset can do so beginning today for 2.250 RON outright, which is about €500 or $680. One of the authorized resellers taking orders for the Nokia Lumia 930 is Emag, but the online retailer only offers the black and white versions of the smartphone.

Although Vodafone Romania has yet to add the Nokia Lumia 930 to its portfolio, customers who can’t afford to grab the device for the upfront price can get it for as low as 850 RON (€190 / $260) with a new 24-month Vodafone RED 39 plan.

There are additional pricing options available for those who want to buy the Lumia 930 on contract, but the one mentioned earlier is the cheapest. Emag will also offer free shipping to all those who order the Nokia Lumia 930.

We expect the Romanian carrier to announce the availability of the Lumia 930 within the next couple of days, but if you don’t mind having to choose from only black and white versions, you can get the smartphone directly from Emag and commit to a new 2-year agreement with Vodafone.

For those who are still undecided on whether or not to purchase the Lumia 930, here is a quick recap of what they can get. First of all, this is one of the few smartphones that come with the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system out of the box.

Nokia Lumia 630 and Lumia 635 are powered by the same version of the mobile platform, but the Lumia 930 is more powerful when it comes to hardware.

First of all, the handset is equipped with a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

The only downside is the fact that it lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion. On the positive side, Nokia Lumia 930 boasts an impressive 20-megapixel PureView rear-facing camera, which features Carl Zeiss lens, OIS (optical image stabilization), dual-LED flash, autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording capabilities.

The smartphone also sports a 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.
