Windows 8.1 Update 1 sure packs a lot of improvements in terms of usability, but it appears that Microsoft has also focused on the Metro tools offered to users a little bit more, so they’re now provided with a new feature to manage disk space.

The new menu which shows up in PC Settings > PC and Devices > Disk space allows you to manage installed apps, media and files, and empty Recycle Bin.

As Paul Thurrott of WinSuperSite notes, the app manager was already there, but the last two options are new for Windows 8.1 users and give them a quick feature to manage locally-stored items.

Windows 8.1 Update 1 is scheduled to make its public debut next month and it’s expected to be delivered to Windows 8.1 users free of charge via the built-in Windows Update feature.
