Microsoft has recently launched the My Server application for Windows 8, allowing users to access server resources without leaving the Modern interface of their device.

“With My Server, you can manage users, devices, alerts, and access shared files in Windows Server 2012 Essentials. In addition, files that you have recently accessed with My Server files continue to be available to you even when offline,” the official product description reads.

Not only does the app allow you to manage users, devices and alerts, but you can also access recently opened files without an Internet connection. The changes you make offline will be automatically synchronized once you connect to the Internet.

The app supports all Windows 8 versions, including x86, x64 and ARM builds, and it comes with a freeware license.
