The company’s new effort is called Beyond Easy and is specifically aimed at partners

Microsoft is reportedly working out a different plan to boost Windows 8 and Office sales that would basically offer its upcoming products a better chance to succeed in the current market conditions.

The VAR Guy writes that Microsoft’s new Beyond Easy campaign is specifically supposed to help partners find, sell and boost their profit with Office 365, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Hyper-V and SQL Server.

“Take advantage of the latest Microsoft solutions. Leverage resources to find customers. Maximize incentives to drive sales. Get rewarded by doing what you do best!” it’s mentioned on the public page of the campaign.

And as far as Microsoft is concerned, the company clearly needs partners’ support to boost sales of the Windows 8 operating system.

One of the possible causes of the slow uptake experienced by its new OS is the lack of touchscreen devices capable of running Windows 8 and bringing its main features in the spotlight.

What’s more, the limited availability of the Surface tablet has dramatically affected sales, with some unofficial sources pointing to only 1.5 million units sold since launch.

People familiar with the matter hinted that the Softies are also trying to work with PC makers around the world in order to bring cheaper devices to the market, working out a new discount campaign for Windows 8 to support their efforts.

At the same time, the company continues work on a Windows 8 overhaul that would hit the market later this year and be offered for free to existing users.

It appears that in addition to the desktop version of the operating system, the Blue project is very likely to spawn major upgrades for several other products, including the tablet-oriented operating system Windows RT, but also the company’s in-house browser Internet Explorer that’s expected to be updated as well in Windows 8.1.
