14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has been quite prolific in bringing its apps and services to Android and iOS platforms in an attempt to make more consumers switch to its mobile operating, Windows Phone.
However, that doesn't seem to apply to games yet. Today, Microsoft has released a new mobile game in the Halo series, which is now available on both Windows Phone and iOS platforms, Halo: Spartan Strike.
For the time being, Microsoft hasn't shared any details on the chances of bringing this game to the Android operating system. It's unclear why the Redmond would deny such a high number of smartphones users the possibility of playing their game.
Anyway, Halo: Spartan Strike is a top-down shooter that continues the saga in Halo: Spartan Assault, but brings a few new gameplay features and improvements.
30 thrilling missions, Xbox controller support
The game comes with 30 challenging missions through jungles and cities, as players try to thwart plans to make Earth the next conquest for evil forces.
The story will take players from new Mombasa on Earth to the mysterious Gamma Halo, which is located at the edge of the charted space.
According to Microsoft, players will be able to pick and play through shared progress between Windows 8 devices. Additionally, Halo: Spartan Strike offers support for keyboard and mouse control, as well as USB Xbox controller, or touch-based virtual joystick.
Players can also earn achievements in Halo: Spartan Strike to unlock an exclusive emblem, nameplate, and avatar in Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One.
If you decide to complete the weekly challenges, then you might be able to take the top position in leaderboards that showcase your Halo gaming skills.
You can now download Halo: Spartan Strike for Windows Phone for $5.99 via Windows Phone Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
