Redmond continues its Scroogled campaign with anti-Google products

Microsoft goes on with its campaign to show the world how Google steals users’ data with a new effort, this time allowing consumers in the United States to purchase Scroogled products.

The company has prepared mugs, hats, and t-shirts, all available for $7.99 (€5.95) or $11.99 (€8.95), which Microsoft says are supposed to show everyone that you’re tired of getting Scroogled.

Of course, Redmond has also used product descriptions that perfectly reveal the purpose of each of these items.

For example, you can purchase a Scroogled Keep Calm Mug that’s “perfect for anyone who’s fully caffeinated and tired of being Scroogled” or go for a Scroogled Logo Hate and “wear this 100 percent cotton, one-size-fits-all hat to show the world that you’re tired of being Scroogled.”

The Scroogled I’m Watching You and the Scroogled Keep Calm t-shirts help you “keep calm while Google steals your data.”

The Scroogled campaign was officially launched earlier this year and is supposed to show users that Google actually violates their privacy by tracking their searches and looking into their inboxes to deliver ads and monetize their data.

“Google goes through every Gmail that's sent or received, looking for keywords so they can target Gmail users with paid ads. And there's no way to opt out of this invasion of your privacy,” Microsoft said as part of the Scroogled campaign.

“Your email provider should protect you from spam, but Google is doing just the opposite; they’re reading your private email conversations and using what they find to push junk mail directly to your Gmail inbox.”

The purpose of the campaign is to actually promote Microsoft’s very own services, including the Bing search engine and the revamped Outlook.com email platform that are directly competing with Google’s products.

Google has until now refused to comment on Microsoft’s Scroogled program, so Redmond would most likely continue its campaign in the coming months.
