Today’s Bing homepage takes you to a tidal island near Cornwall

As you know, Microsoft rolls out new backgrounds for the Bing search engine every day and today’s wallpaper is clearly worth all the attention.

As Microsoft itself explained, the new background is showing a tidal island near Cornwall, with the castle you’re seeing there once housing a giant.

“According to legends, that giant lived in the castle on St. Michael’s Mount and would take advantage of the shallow waters to go into town to steal cattle and sheep. That is, until one day, when he fell into a pit. ‘The Mount’ – as it’s known to locals, who might also refer to it by its Cornish name, ‘Karrek Loos yn Koos’ (which means ‘grey rock in the woods’) – has a causeway that you can walk across – at low tide,” Microsoft said.

As you can see, Bing has become a great service not only to new places around the world, but also to learn interesting things you didn’t yet know, so maybe Microsoft’s search engine is really worth a chance after all.
