Microsoft is also trying to take over the living room with several new products and technologies, so you shouldn’t be too surprised to hear that the company has just introduced a new keyboard for smart TVs.

The All-in-One Media Keyboard uses a USB wireless transceiver to connect to your device, and comes with both a full size keyset and a multi-touch trackpad, which means that you can use it as a mouse and keyboard at the same time.

It was designed to be durable, Microsoft said, and spill resistant, so nothing bad is going to happen if you spill a glass of wine of the keyboard.

Hotkeys to access the main modern Windows options are also being offered, including shortcuts for search and media controls to play and pause a song. Dedicated buttons to quickly access some apps, such as Xbox Music and Hulu, are also being offered.

“Last week, I was able to try the All-in-One Media Keyboard out. I connected my Surface Pro 2 to my TV upstairs, plugged in the USB transceiver, and the keyboard worked flawlessly as I sat on my couch going through photos I had taken with my Lumia 1020 from Build in OneDrive,” Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc said.

The new keyboard goes on sale at Microsoft Store today and can be purchased in the United States for $39.95 (€28.85).
