Microsoft recently announced that its Recite Technology Preview would end its life on December 31, 2009. Microsoft Recite, as many of you might already know, offers users the possibility to employ their voice so as to be able to search and retrieve various things they want to remember. Starting with the last day from the ongoing year, users will not be able to access the technology from their mobile phones, the software giant announced.

Microsoft will no longer be offering the Microsoft Recite Technology Preview as of December 31, 2009. After this date you will no longer be able to access Microsoft Recite from your mobile phone. The Microsoft Recite Team thanks you for your valuable feedback on this product. The ability to capture notes and reminders is an area we are still focused on and we will continue to consider your feedback to build out these rich experiences in upcoming products,” the maker states on the project page.

One more thing that should be noted is that the Redmond-based company says it is important for users to retain the Microsoft Recite files they need. At the same time, the software giant adds that users should move the files from their handsets to their personal computers, a process that should ensure they do not lose access to valuable data. “Thank you for using Microsoft Recite. Should you need assistance with this transition or have feedback that you want to share with the Microsoft Recite team, please consult the Microsoft Recite Forum,” the company notes.

The Microsoft Recite Technology Preview was announced as being publicly available back in February this year. The search technology was available for handsets running under Windows Mobile 6.0 or higher. Although the Microsoft Recite Technology Preview goes down, the software company hasn't announced anything specific regarding the inclusion of Recite technology in a commercial product, yet it might unveil more in the near future.
