14 DAY TRIAL // Nokia recently teased a new Windows Phone that will soon be launched in the United States. Even though the Finnish company did not offer any details on the upcoming device, it's almost certain the smartphone in question is the Nokia Lumia ICON.
The long-rumored Windows Phone handset was delayed a few times probably due to Verizon's decision to deal with Microsoft and not Nokia.
The US-based carrier thought it would be wise to profit from Microsoft's huge marketing budget for the Lumia ICON instead of Nokia's (possibly) smaller one.
Anyway, according to the latest hearsay Nokia Lumia ICON should arrive at Verizon sometime this month, but ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014.
The folks over at WPCentral have just got their hands on some in-store inventory listings, which confirm the Nokia Lumia ICON will arrive in stock at Verizon on February 19.
However, the smartphone will not go on sale on the same day. Verizon usually launches new devices on Thursdays, which is why we believe the Nokia Lumia ICON will go on sale on February 20.
In addition, WPCentral also has it from a source close to the matter that Nokia Lumia ICON will be available for pre-order at Microsoft Stores beginning February 12.
Potential customers will have to pay a $50 deposit in order to book their Lumia ICON device for the February 20 release.
Also known as Nokia Lumia 929, the high-end smartphone is said to boast a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.
It will also be equipped with a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.
Verizon's Nokia Lumia ICON will pack an impressive 20-megapixel PureView camera with dual-LED flash, autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording.
Other highlights of the smartphone might include: Qi-Wireless charging, 2510 mAh battery, 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as LTE support.
