Microsoft is reportedly pulling Surface Pro 2 tablets from the physical stores in the United States, as the company is apparently planning to keep the device available online via its online store.

WPCentral reports that several Microsoft stores across the US have already stopped selling the Surface Pro 2 and compatible accessories, with some still receiving a limited number of devices.

While nobody can tell for sure whether Microsoft is actually preparing a different strategy to keep selling the Surface Pro 2, the company is clearly making room for the Surface Pro 3, which is already up for grabs in the United States and Canada. Other markets will also follow soon.

The SP3 was officially unveiled on May 20 and is considered the perfect laptop replacement, coming with a 12-inch screen, up to 512 GB of storage space and 8 GB of RAM, but also with a completely new digital pen that makes drawing and writing a breeze.

Microsoft is yet to make a public announcement on what’s happening with the Surface Pro 2 in physical stores across the United States, but we’ve contacted the company for some more details on this, so we’ll update the article accordingly when we receive an answer.
