Microsoft rolls out more and more warnings for Windows XP users as we get closer to the official retirement date scheduled to take place on April 8, 2014.

This time, Redmond claims in a statement for PCR that Windows XP’s time has passed, as it no longer incorporates the right tools to protect users and defend their computers.

“While Windows XP was a great operating system for its time and introduced some great anti-malware and security features, it’s no longer enough to defend against the onslaught of modern threats that organisations face,” a company spokesperson was quoted as saying.

“With every new version of Windows we have made substantial security updates from the previous versions and both consumers and organisations can get advice on how to upgrade to a more recent operating system at www.get2modern.com”

At this point, more than 30 percent of computers worldwide are still running Windows XP, so Microsoft’s campaign to move users from Windows XP gets harder every day.
