The launch of the Xbox One was affected by problems that some users of the new home console have been reporting with their Blu-ray drives, which were said to be destroying any disk that gamers tried to use.

Microsoft is now issuing an official response about the situation to Kotaku which does not directly address the problem but explains that all devices that are affected by hardware failure will be replaced.

The company says that, "Rest assured we plan to take care of our customers. Any customer who believes they are experiencing an issue with their Xbox One should reach out to us."

All Xbox One devices offer all the information that a user needs in order to contact Microsoft.

The Xbox One is available on 13 core markets and it would have been helpful for the company to offer those affected more direct advice than to contact customer service.
