The company again recommends users to move to a newer Windows OS

Microsoft is again reminding users that Windows XP would soon be discontinued, trying to emphasize the risks of sticking to the old operating system and not moving to a newer platform.

In a post published on the new The Fire Hose blog launched by Microsoft a few days ago, the company issued a warning that Windows XP would go dark in less than one year, so no other updates would be provided.

“What does end of support mean? It means no security updates. No free or paid assisted support options, and no updates to online content. Using new hardware and software will become increasingly difficult and incompatible,” Jennifer Chen, Microsoft News Center Staff, explained.

And still, users don’t seem to get the message and many prefer to stick to this operating system despite the risks of getting vulnerable while browsing the web.

But what about you? Are you still planning to continue using Windows XP after April 8, 2014? Tell me your opinion in the comment box below and don’t forget to vote in our poll on the official Softpedia Facebook page.
