Microsoft goes on with its transformation plan, with the company struggling to embrace the devices and services concept that outgoing CEO Steve Ballmer has talked about so much lately.
And as far as Daniel Ives, senior analyst at FBR Capital Markets & Co., is concerned, Microsoft is doing an admirable job, especially as the PC industry is continuously declining.
"Even though there are massive PC headwinds they're facing, they're doing an admirable job," he told The Guardian in an interview.
Microsoft, on the other hand, continues the search for a new CEO, as the board of directors seeks increased profitability on the long term. According to people familiar with the matter, former Nokia boss Stephen Elop and Alan Mulally, CEO of Ford, are the top choices to take over from Ballmer.
