Today, the guys over at Nokia Beta Labs have announced that the popular destination for the owners of Nokia handsets out there is being discontinued.

Starting September 5, the Nokia Beta Labs site that can be accessed via http://betalabs.nokia.com will be discontinued. Those who will try to access it will be automatically redirected to a new trial site, which is Microsoft’s UserVoice portal.

“Beginning this month we will start hosting all new beta trials for Lumia apps at a new site, based on services provided by UserVoice. You can preview that site at http://lumiabetaapps.uservoice.com,” a post on the Nokia Beta Labs blog reads.

Starting September 5, all the beta trials for Lumia applications will be hosted there, and those interested in learning info on new software, along with instructions on how to install beta apps will have to head there.

Moreover, the new location will also provide users with notes about app features and known issues, as well as with a feedback forum where users can post info on their experience with the apps available there.

At the same time, the new site will allow users to interact with other beta testers, vote on their feedback, and even engage with the team of developers behind applications.

“Trialing beta apps with our most passionate lead users remains a key phase of our product development and helps us to build better products,” said blog post reads.

“By switching to a new site built on the UserVoice service we focus on what’s most important – gathering feedback and interacting with people testing our apps – while at the same time simplify the end-to-end experience of participating in beta trials.”

As soon as the Nokia Beta Labs website is discontinued, all the content on it at the moment will cease to be available. However, as mentioned above, the trials that are currently undergoing at Beta Labs will be transitioned to the new location.

Some of the apps that will be moved include Nokia Camera beta, Nokia Chat powered by Yahoo! beta, App Social beta, and Nokia Conference beta.

Those of you interested in continuing offering feedback on these apps or on receiving access to new beta apps for Lumia handsets should head over to the UserVoice website for that.

They will also find some additional details on the change there, along with a tutorial about how the site works. Additional details on the switch will be provided in the not-too-distant future on both websites, the aforementioned blog post also reveals.
