Geeks at play!

Warning! Geeks at play! Microsoft has decided to sex up in order to attract geeks back to the computer industry. And since geeks and models are a natural combination, Microsoft has come to the conclusion that former Miss Australia Erin McNaught (do access the adjacent images for a more intimate perspective) would be perfect for the job of rising interest in the old and increasingly going limp, software business. No, of course that she does not have the necessary IT qualifications.

But like Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates, she too is a drop-out. Only that not from Harvard, but from the Queensland Institute of Technology, according to CourierMail. Still, Gates did manage to found the largest software company in the world and Erin McNaught is going to revolutionize the general public's perception of IT. Once you see her topless you'll understand why. I only hope that Microsoft is ready for the upcoming flood of geeks.

However, Erin McNaught has an adjacent role at Microsoft. As I've heard, Sinofsky was dying to tell her all his dirty little secrets related to Windows Vista Service Pack 1, Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 (Seven). McNaught is in fact the key to unlock Sinofsky's Windows Omerta and to break the company's silence over the upcoming releases of the Windows platform. Microsoft has hired this young thespian/model/geek magnet as a way to get the Vista SP1 launch date out of Sinofsky. But once Sinofsky gets involved, expect Windows project to begin being delayed and the Windows Group to overpromise and underachieve just as usual.

McNaught is going to be served on a silver platter to Sinofsky as the new expert in user experience. And everything will go back to normal. Codenames instead of product numbers, delays, cancellations, reinventions of the software and then more delays. Once these two get in the same room, expect Windows Seven in 2015, not in 2010. But also a bunch of little and MUTE Sinofskies running around, putting product numbers on every bit of code under development. Steven Sinofsky is of course the Senior Vice President, Windows and Windows Live Engineering Group.
