Windows 8, the next generation operating system from Microsoft, will be able to deliver great new capabilities for both end-users and for companies. The Redmond-based software giant has been long touting these capabilities of its new platform, and is now getting ready to offer some more info on the matter.

In addition to showcasing enterprise applications that can take full advantage of the Metro UI on the upcoming platform, Microsoft is also readying events to provide companies with more details on the matter.

On Monday, the leading software company announced such an event planned for April 4th in Microsoft’s Silicon Valley Campus.

“Are you interested in experiencing the next great app platform opportunity, Windows 8? Do you want to learn how to get started building apps for this new platform?” Bruce D. Kyle, ISV architect evangelist, Microsoft Corporation, notes in a blog post.

“We are inviting the Silicon Valley startup community to a full-day, knockout, deep dive event taking place on our Silicon Valley Campus April 4.”

Developers and designers will be present at the event to provide more info on the opportunities that the new platform opens and to discuss their experience with the building of software for Windows 8.

Applications coming from various startups will be demonstrated at the event, and Microsoft will offer attendees a better look at the platform itself, as well as at the tools they need to start building software for it.

Sessions at the event will include designing for the new Metro UI, building for the platform, and monetizing applications.

Interested parties can register for the event and learn more info on it at http://introducingwindows8.eventbrite.com/. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM (PT) in Mountain View, CA, and does not require a fee to attend.
