Microsoft has just announced that it would organize a new AppFest coding marathon on February 26 in India, trying to get together more than 10,000 students from across the country.

According to a report by InformationWeek, the event will take place in more than 50 hub centers, including the Shivajirao S. Jondhale College of Engineering and VES Institute of Technology.

Just like it happened before, the company will offer students free software, including Visual Studio Express for Windows 8 and Windows Store registration codes.

“Given the right skills and training, there is lot young technology students can achieve today. This is exactly what we are trying to do: bring together the opportunity and those who can utilize it,” Pratima Amonkar, director, Strategic Audience Marketing, stated.

“Obviously students recognize the opportunity, going by the enthusiastic response we have received across India so far.”
