Microsoft is again trying to help African youth, this time with the help of the Development Bank of South Africa and a $15 million (€11.3 million) scheme.

The company has agreed to contribute with a similar investment to train unemployed young people in the country and help them build up a career in the IT industry.

According to a report by ZDNet, Microsoft forecast that 3,000 unemployed South Africans will benefit from the training scheme.

"Gartner estimates that there will be 4.4 million IT jobs created globally by 2015. But two thirds of those are likely to go unfilled due lack of skills. There's a big divide between people who have access to tools and technology to learn those skills, and those who do not. This is the challenge to be addressed” Microsoft International president Jean-Phillipe Courtois was quoted as saying.
