Microsoft has announced the immediate availability of the Network Analyzer for Windows Mobile. The PowerToy is designed to address troubleshooting on Windows Mobile powered devices. Introducing utilities
such as ping and ipconfig, the Network Analyzer for Windows Mobile aims to address problems related to network connectivity.

"You can extend the harness. You can add user-defined tests (DLLs) to the list of tests to be executed. An xml input file defines the list of tests to execute. You can use Network Analyzer to send information about network traffic to a .cap file. You can then view the .cap file with the Network Monitor tool or the Ethereal tool. See the readme file below for more information," reads a message posted on the Microsoft Download Center.

Windows Mobile 5.0 software for Pocket PC and Windows Mobile 5.0 software for Smartphone are the two supported mobile device operating systems. However, the Redmond Company has warned that, as the PowerToy is not an integer part of Windows Mobile, Microsoft Technical Support will not offer assistance with issues related to the Mobile Network Analyzer.

I've put this on a 3125, and it seems to run okay, but I've seen no documentation about how to extend the test cases and create your own. Supposedly, you write a dll that extends the function RunAnalyzerTest, but how do you do this, where is the documentation about RunAnalyzerTest, and where do you put the dll after you write it?

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
