The SMB market will be able to drive innovation by bringing generational changes to the payment infrastructure with Microsoft Dynamics - Point of Sale 2.0 and Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System (RMS) 2.0. The two Microsoft solutions have been announced at the National Retail Federation Annual Convention & Expo in New York, and are the result of a collaboration between the Redmond Company and First Data Corporation and HP.

According to Microsoft, the Dynamics - Point of Sale 2.0 and the Dynamics Retail Management System (RMS) 2.0 are designed as PC-based point-of-sale solutions in concert with high-speed Internet connections in order to replace payment terminals and dial-up connections.

"With Microsoft Dynamics - Point of Sale we have been able to dramatically reduce lines at the cash register. The system allows staff to quickly look up items that may have lost tags and enter new inventory whenever it's convenient - all with one less employee than we needed with an electronic cash register."

Microsoft Dynamics - Point of Sale 2.0 features a graphical user interface commonly used across Microsoft's products. Via Dynamics - Point of Sale 2.0 SMBs will also be able to extend the storefront to the Internet.
