There has been a flood of news regarding the Lumia Cyan update this week and things will get even hotter in the next couple of days, as Microsoft is trying to push the upgrade to as many devices as possible.

Unfortunately, the update depends on carriers and country as well, so there are no exact release dates for the deployment of Lumia Cyan update. The good news is that Microsoft refreshes its software update website with availability dates on a daily basis.

While we have already reported that several Nokia Lumia smartphones have just received the Cyan update in India, or are about to get it, Microsoft India made a bold move and released a table that contains tentative timeframe for the release of the update for several handsets.

For those unaware, Microsoft has already rolled out the Cyan update for Nokia Lumia 625, 925, 1320 and 1520 in India. The company also kicked off the deployment of the upgrade for Nokia Lumia 520 and Lumia 1020, which means Lumia Cyan is being rolled out as we speak.

These are the good news. The bad news is what’s left from the Lumia lineup of smartphones will receive the Cyan update next month.

Lots of Windows Phone users who own one of the handsets that have yet to receive the update, approached Microsoft India in an attempt to get a clear answer on when they will be able to upgrade to Lumia Cyan.

Well, it looks like Microsoft India is tired to answer the same questions over and over again, so it published a table with info on when the Windows Phone 8.1 update, which should also contain Lumia Cyan, will arrive in India.

So, Nokia Lumia 920, 820, 720, 620 and 525 will not be eligible for a Lumia Cyan update this month, but they should receive the highly anticipated upgrade beginning September.

Obviously, lots of Windows Phone users in India will be disappointed by the announcement, especially that previous statements coming from Microsoft India hinted to a possible release of the update this month.

Those who own one of the smartphones mentioned earlier will have to wait at least one more month for Microsoft to release Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Cyan for their handsets. Let’s hope that Microsoft India is wrong about these release dates, it wouldn’t be the first time they’re mistaken. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
