Up until now, MSN Hotmail users only got 250 MB of storage space for their emails. In this aspect, Microsoft was lagging behind Yahoo and even Google. Yahoo Mail is providing users with 1 GB of storage
space and Gmail was making available "2785.368344 megabytes (and counting) of free storage" at the time of this article, because the Gmail storage space is increasing continually.
Now, Microsoft is also increasing the MSN Hotmail storage space from 250 MB to 1 GB. In the past, the Redmond Company had initially expanded the MSN Hotmail storage space to 25 MB before making the jump to 250 MB.
And Windows Live Mail? Windows Live Mail is still in Beta. Moreover, the Microsoft service is not accessible world wide but only locally. The conclusion that emerges from the MSN Hotmail storage space increase is that Windows Live Mail will not exit beta stage anytime soon. But the service looks promising. At least the features applauded by the Redmond Company. Drag and drop file management, message preview, advanced phishing protections, a modern GUI and no less than 2 GB of storage.
