Microsoft continues improving Windows 8 apps, this time with a major release including several essential pre-installed apps already available on most versions of Microsoft’s latest operating system.

The release notes published in the Windows Store point to several improvements, including the introduction of personal finance tools such as auto loan calculator, savings calculator, retirement planner, and ROI calculator.

In addition, the app now shows the top personal finance articles, real time quotes and charts for US stocks, as well as updated Watchlist with list view and more information per ticker.

The app is obviously available for free and can be installed on all Windows 8 builds, including the desktop and the tablet flavor that’s already installed on a number of devices, such as Microsoft’s very own Surface RT.
