Microsoft Advertising has just announced that former TalkSport and Emap creative Duncan Stafford has been appointed to the new position of creative lead.

While this move may be a bit surprising, the reason behind this new appointment makes much more sense if we analyze Microsoft’s efforts to streamline the collaboration with brands.

Basically, Microsoft wants to work closer with agencies in order to make the most of its advertising efforts, so appointing a new creative lead to manage all these new campaigns was the only way to go.

Stafford will report to James Hayr, Microsoft Advertising’s head of advertising solutions, and will closely collaborate with a technical specialist on a bunch of new projects.

Marketing Week reports that partnerships with Paramount and Dell will help the new team gets closer to brands and agencies from the very early stages of new campaigns.
