Even though there’s no official confirmation on this, Microsoft is reportedly working on a smaller Surface tablet, most likely with a 7- or 8-inch display and running Windows Blue.

While the company has remained tight-lipped on the subject, a job ad posted on Coroflot’s job page indicates that smaller tablets could be launched in the coming months.

“Are you passionate about building cool devices and technologies? The Surface Team focuses on building devices that fully express the Windows vision. A fundamental part of our strategy is having desirable and powerful devices that enable the experiences people want, and elicit their excitement. We are currently building the next generation and Surface needs you!” the job ad reads.

Microsoft has recently lowered the minimum screen resolution required for Windows 8 devices to 1024x768, suggesting that smaller devices running its operating system might be released in the near future.
