Microsoft has released an official statement concerning yesterday's Steam database leak, which seemingly hinted that Halo 3 together with Halo 2 and Halo: Combat Evolved were coming to the PC, via Steam, saying that it has no current plans about such a thing.

Steam's database can be explored by tech-savvy individuals and yesterday a bunch of upcoming titles were seemingly confirmed by the digital distribution service, including surprise sequels like Quantum Conundrum 2 or the fact that the original Halo trilogy was coming to the PC, including Halo 3.

Now, Microsoft has told Kotaku that it currently has no plans to release any Halo titles on Steam.

While the statement is pretty cut and dry, the "currently" part could hint that, at some point in time, Halo 3, alongside Halo 2 and Halo: Combat Evolved, which were already released on the PC a few years ago, might appear in Steam.
