Microsoft has big plans to integrate gaming for the Xbox One and the coming Windows 10 operating system, but the company is not yet ready to offer many details about the kind of experiences players will be able to get using the new HoloLens devices.

During GDC 2015, the company has explained that it wants to use the coming months to offer developers integrated solutions which will allow them to create titles that can be launched on a range of devices.

It's still unclear how Microsoft wants to allow studios to create code that can run on the HoloLens, which at the moment does not have an official launch date and is not even offered for close partners.

The company does state on the Xbox Wire that "While there are going to be many uses and industries that take advantage of Microsoft HoloLens and everything that holographic computing has to offer, gaming is a huge opportunity. For all the game developers out there, we encourage you to join the Windows Insider Program to get the holographic APIs when available, and stay tuned for Build 2015, where we will share more details."

The HoloLens is not a full virtual reality experience and will allow gamers to integrate some elements of their favorite franchises into the environments around them.

Elite: Dangerous and Gigantic are coming to Xbox One

Microsoft is confirming that, in addition to the range of titles that were confirmed before, it will also launch Elite: Dangerous on the Xbox One, with all the updates and the extra content that will be offered on the PC.

At the moment, there's no info on when the space sim will be offered.

Another title confirmed for both the home console and Windows 10 is Gigantic, created by a developer called Motiga.

The experience is a five versus five third-person battle arena title that uses a fantasy setting.

Gamers will be able to select from a variety of heroes, with unique powers and styles, in order to then cooperate with teammates as they try to take out the enemy Guardian.

Gigantic will have cross-platform play, but it also lacks a release window.

Microsoft will offer more details on the way it plans to integrate Xbox One and Windows 10 as the launch date for the new operating system draws near.
