Windows 8.1 is now available for download and Microsoft keeps praising it, with the company claiming that work on the OS update has started back in October 2012 when it officially rolled out the core Windows 8 platform.

The Windows 8.1 team said in an AMA session on Reddit that it keeps improving the operating system, which means that more enhancements could land in the coming months.

“The work never stops - we've been working on 8.1 since right after we shipped 8 last year - we've been making improvements right up until recently,” the team wrote.

As you probably know by now, Windows 8.1 comes with lots of improvements, including a brand new Start button that gets users to the Start screen. While it’s hard to believe that Microsoft actually decided to launch a Start button just after the debut of Windows 8, it’s actually a good thing that Redmond is actually listening to what users really want.
