
Microsoft line-up of hardware devices will be completely compatible with the upcoming Windows Vista, the Redmond Company revealed via a press release. "The Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000,
Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000 and Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 will take advantage of Windows Vista, allowing users to easily accomplish everyday tasks, instantly find what they are looking for and enjoy the latest in entertainment," announced Microsoft Hardware.
Moreover, the mice, keyboards and LifeCams will deliver comparable functionality on beta versions of Windows Vista, Windows XP and the Dashboard on Mac OS X. Consequently, Microsoft has stated that complete hardware operational features will be accessible only with the final release of Vista.
"The new Microsoft products introduced today will be available for the following estimated retail prices: Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000: $249.95 (U.S.), available February 2007, Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000: $149.95 (U.S.), available January 2007, Wireless Laser Desktop 6000: $99.95 (U.S.), available September 2006," stated Microsoft.
The three new Microsoft desktops add to the already existing volume of hardware, but are designed to seamlessly integrate a suite of one-touch design features with Windows Vista. The fingertips commands will launch the Start Menu via the windows Start Button, and user custom programs will be accessible through the Gadget Button. Additionally, IM and video conversations will be launched with a push of the Windows Live Call Button, while the Media Center Start Button will deliver immediate access to the media related applications.
