Microsoft will soon launch the new Windows 8.1 OS update and in order to make sure that most Windows 8 users will actually make the move to its new release, the company is preparing a pretty clever strategy.

McAkins Online writes that all Windows 8.1-specific apps will be listed in the Windows 8 Store, but users who’ll want to download and install them will be asked to upgrade.

As you know, Windows 8.1 will be offered free of charge to these users, so it won’t cost a thing to upgrade and get your hands on these apps.

Movie Moments, Bing Food & Drink, and Bing Health & Fitness will remain exclusively available to Windows 8.1 consumers, so Microsoft seems to rely on these apps to try enticing users to the new operating system.
