The Xbox 360 is catered to offline gaming, as opposed to Xbox One

In a rather surprising statement addressed to gamers who don't have active Internet connections, Microsoft has recommended that they get an Xbox 360 current-gen console instead of the Xbox One next-gen device.

The Xbox One has sparked a huge controversy due to the fact that it requires to go online every 24 hours so that games can be played on it.

This requirement basically deters anyone without a stable Internet connection from using an Xbox One.

In such cases, according to Microsoft's Phil Spencer, who talked with Destructoid, gamers should just get an Xbox 360 instead of the Xbox One.

"The 360 ecosystem is a great ecosystem for somebody that's in a purely disconnected state for long periods of time. We have built a natively connected device with Xbox One and we think the experiences are moving in that direction."

Spencer highlighted that there are inherent benefits to always being online, and that gamers should try to meet this requirement and get the Xbox One.
