The new studio will focus on creating big AAA games
Microsoft Game Studios Vancouver has just been renamed into Black Tusk Studios and, according to its new website, it will work on Microsoft's next big AAA franchise.Microsoft set up a brand new studio in Vancouver earlier this year and, at least at that point in time, it was supposed to start working on hardcore game that used the Kinect sensor on the Xbox 360.
Now, the developer has just been renamed into Black Tusk Studios and has confirmed that it'll be working on AAA games.
"Black Tusk Studios is dedicated to creating immersive, AAA games that push the limits of Microsoft’s entertainment platforms. Located in downtown Vancouver, Canada, we are part of the Microsoft Studios family, and we are growing," the developer said on its website.
The studio will work on these big projects with the help of Microsoft's other global studios, from Halo 4 dev 343 Industries to Lionhead or Turn 10 Studios.
"Being a first-party studio at Microsoft means having both the mandate and the opportunity to think and act big. All of Microsoft’s studios share the same commitment to innovation and quality, along with support from a world-class global marketing, sales, and distribution organization."
"As part of the Microsoft Studios family, Black Tusk is able to leverage resources, technology, and experience from other first-party studios such as 343 Industries, Turn 10 Studios, Rare Ltd., Lionhead Studios, Good Science Studio, and Twisted Pixel Games."
What’s more, Black Tusk will also work tightly with Microsoft's other studios in the area, including BigPark and Microsoft Studios Victoria, not to mention the company's actual hardware development teams.
"We also share resources and knowledge with BigPark and Microsoft Studios Victoria, two other Microsoft studios located in Vancouver and Victoria respectively. Finally, we collaborate closely with the teams that make Microsoft’s entertainment platforms, such as Xbox 360, Xbox Live, and Kinect."
Besides this rename, the studio is looking for lots of experienced developers, so feel free to check out its website.
