The company is planning to hire 2,700 workers in the area

The number of employees working in Microsoft’s campus in south Fargo is growing really fast, so the company may need to lease extra space as soon as 2015.

The three buildings on the main campus are almost full, according to a statement of Don Morton, Microsoft Fargo site leader, so sketching some expansion plans may become a priority.

Microsoft also employs an additional 170 people at Woodhaven Plaza in Fargo, GrandForksHerald.com writes, but the company plans to move all of them to the main campus once all buildings are constructed.

“We know our buildings are full now, and so we have to go out into the lease market, which we are exploring,” Morton said. “And we also know in the long run, it’s better business to build your own rather than to lease.”
