For the inaugural Microsoft Asia High Tech Industry Summit, the Redmond company indicated that Asian companies need to focus on three key areas of growth. The first Asia High Tech Industry Summit catalyzed by Microsoft is designed to generate dialog between the players of the continent's high-tech and electronics industry to detail not only the challenges but also the opportunities of their growth. Participants at the summit will be able to take advantage of insights, best practices presentations but also the success stories from senior representatives belonging to top high tech companies in Asia.

“Globalization, shrinking product life cycles and digital convergence have made high-tech value chains and markets far more dynamic,” explained Sanjay Ravi, worldwide managing director, High-Tech and Electronics Industry at Microsoft.

The Redmond company revealed that the evolution of Asian high-tech companies would be impacted by an increased focus on making consumers active participants in the high-tech value equation. In this regard, the software giant informed that it is vital for manufacturers to engage their consumers as an active audience providing feedback, and subsequently to integrate the input into end products.

Another key aspect bound to generate success is to deliver converged devices which successfully combine entertainment with computing and communications. In this regard, Microsoft emphasized that manufacturers would not only deliver added value for users, but also develop new business experiences.

In addition, the Redmond company noted that Asia companies could not remain limited to the continent's markets, but that they would have to make an investment in going global, while at the same time being able to tailor their offerings to specific countries around the world. Microsoft pointed to emerging economies as fertile soil for business growth.

“Business process innovation is key to enabling high-tech and electronics companies to achieve competitive success by maximizing their performance across borders. Together with our partners, we have developed solutions that can help them optimize their global value networks, effectively manage the innovation process, drive customer and consumer centricity, and improve operational efficiency with innovative, familiar and easy-to-use solutions,” Ravi added.
