Microsoft continues its efforts to bring more developers to the Windows 8 platform and, as far as the total number of apps available in the Store right now is concerned, the company’s attempts are quickly paying off.

According to MetroStore Scanner, there are more than 50,000 apps offered to Windows 8 adopters right now, even though the Redmond-based giant expected to see many more by February 1.

On the other hand, some very important software solutions are still missing from Windows 8’s software repository, including an official Facebook client and apps to access Google services.

The company is currently offering $100 (€77) gifts to developers who create Windows 8 apps, in a new attempt to boost the number of tools submitted to the Store and thus provide users with many more high-quality Modern solutions.
