Microsoft has recently promised to block scam apps from reaching the Windows Store, and although many entries have been removed in the following days, new fake items are now available for download.

For example, Minecrafft HD and Classh of Clanns (we won’t link them for obvious reasons) are both listed for download in the Windows Store right now, and they’re both really expensive apps: one costs $13.99 (€10.5), while the other one can be yours for $14.99 (€11.5).

Both are obviously fake apps that are trying to capitalize on the popularity of games that are yet to be released on Windows 8, and unfortunately, reviews published in the store confirm that some people have already purchased them.

Microsoft indeed promised to clean the store of fake apps, but it’s unclear how exactly it happens that new items are approved for download even though it’s very clear that they shouldn’t really be there.

“These revised policies are being applied to all new app submissions and existing app updates for both the Windows and Windows Phone Store. We’ve also been working on titles already in the catalog, conducting a review of Windows Store to identify titles that do not comply with our modified certification requirements. This process is continuing as we work to be as thorough and transparent as possible in our review,” the company said a few days ago.

We’ve reached out to Microsoft for some comments on this and will update the article when and if we get an answer.
