Microsoft continues the search for a new CEO and now a new report claims that all employees are waiting for a public announcement by the end of the year.

AllThingsD is reporting that while no particular name has the support of the company’s employees, everybody wants to find out the one to replace Steve Ballmer at the helm of the tech giant by the end of the year, in order to continue the transition to the devices and services approach.

“Everyone is just waiting for the decision,” a company employee was quoted as saying. “Even though we are supposed to be carrying out the new One Microsoft plan that Ballmer created, it’s pretty much a wait-and-see for everyone.”

At this point, Satya Nadella, head of the cloud business at Microsoft, is the top candidate for the CEO position, while Ford’s Alan Mulally has lost the support of some company investors. Tony Bates, Kevin Turner, and Stephen Elop are also said to be in the race of the vacant position.
