Redmond teases a more polished look for Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge is the next big thing for Windows users, as the new browser will replace Internet Explorer in the upcoming Windows 10, but what’s more exciting is that the Redmond-based software giant is really struggling to make this one better than its predecessor.

And one of the ways to achieve this is by introducing a new dark theme that perfectly fits Windows 10, as the operating system itself comes with a black visual style that makes it feel fresh and modern.

As we already told you one week ago, Project Spartan, the current codename of Microsoft Edge, already comes with a dark theme, but this needs to be activated with the help of a registry tweak.

And yet, Microsoft is working to polish this new dark theme in new builds, so today a company employee has tweeted a photo to show what the new browser looks like right now (via WinBeta).

Obviously, Spartan browser with a dark theme looks a lot more refined and icons are now white, as compared to the version we’ve shown you and obtained through the registry trick, and that better fits a black background and makes everything more visible.

The dark theme could be default

There are lots of unknown details about Microsoft Edge right now, but as far as the dark theme is concerned, there are some voices claiming that the company could make it default in the new browser when it ships on July 29.

And yet, Microsoft Edge browser could receive such a tweak in late 2015 as well, when the company is projected to release an important pack of improvements that will also include support for extensions. Microsoft is expected to add this functionality in the last months of the year, but the company is yet to reveal anything on the release date of these Edge features.
