Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 support has ended earlier this week, on January 11th, 2011. According to David Musgrave, from the Microsoft Dynamics GP Developer Support team, the same is valid for Small Business Financials 9.0.

Of course, the best solution for customers as far as the Redmond company is concerned, is for them to upgrade to a more recent release of Dynamics GP.

“To ensure you are on a supported version of Microsoft Dynamics GP, please update to Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 or higher,” Musgrave advised.

And while support has already been retired for Dynamics GP 9.0, the product is about to hit yet another milestone by the end of this month.

“Tax and regulatory updates for Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 and Microsoft Small Business Financials 9.0 will retire after January 31, 2011,” Musgrave added.

The software giant is currently hard at work developing the next generation of Dynamics GP.

Dynamics GP 2010 R2 will be the successor of the plain vanilla Dynamics GP 2010, with a release date set sometime by mid-2011.

Microsoft announced Dynamics GP 2010 R2 in mid-November 2010, and by the looks of it, the solution will hit commercial availability in the second quarter of this year.

The Redmond company promised that it will share additional details on Dynamics GP 2010 R2 with customers at the Microsoft Dynamics GP Technical Conference 2011, scheduled for March 1–3, 2011.

“The conference is THE place to learn about “all things” Microsoft Dynamics GP. You’ll learn about the product itself, innovative development tools, best practices and more.

“There will be numerous opportunities to network and visit with the Microsoft Dynamics GP development, support and leadership teams as well as with other partners,” Musgrave stated adding that customers still have time to register for the event.
