The first of the two virtual machine images featuring the RTM bits of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 is now available for download. Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 RTM "CoreMR" VPC can be grabbed from the Redmond company, but only by customers with access to the PartnerSource Download Page.

In addition to the CoreMR" VPC, the software giant also plans to release the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 RTM “Core-Plus” VPC, which will contain additional functionality on top of what the first virtual machine image has to offer.

As the official label of the CoreMR image implies, the download brings to the table the RTM version of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, but also additional technologies.

I included a complete list of everything that is included into the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 RTM "CoreMR" VPC at the bottom of this article.

“We named the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 RTM VPC “CoreMR” because it is designed for more of the “Business Essentials” type demonstrations,” revealed a member of the Microsoft Dynamics GP team.

“These demonstrations focus more around the “Core” back-office functionality that Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 has to offer."

“Of course, when you are demoing this “Core” functionality, it is often a requirement to demonstrate Financial Reporting/Corporate Performance Management…..i.e. “MR” or better known as Management Reporter for Microsoft Dynamics ERP.”

But in order to produce a streamline demonstration tool, the Redmond company cut functionality such as Workflow and Business Portal.

However, customers interested specifically in the details not included with this VPC will be able to get them with the upcoming Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 RTM “Core-Plus” VPC, which is planned for availability soon.

And although Microsoft started leveraging HyperV for the beta development milestone of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Technical Demonstration Toolkits, CoreMR is designed to work with the Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 SP1 platform.

Still, customers that want to use CoreMR with HyperV will be able to do so, as Microsoft will concert the image for the hypervisor technology in mid-September 2010.
