Microsoft has just revealed that it isn't too interested in remastering older Xbox titles like the first two Halo shooters for the current Xbox 360, and won't follow the new trend that has been grasping the games industry.

Sony and Ubisoft have been aiming retro fans lately with the release of classic PlayStation 2 titles for the PlayStation 3.

We've already seen the God of War Collection, the Sly Cooper and Team Ico ones will soon follow, while Ubisoft is remastering Beyond Good & Evil as well as the original Prince of Persia Sands of Time trilogy.

Sadly, Microsoft isn't too interested in this trend, and we won't get to see classic Xbox titles being remastered for the current Xbox 360.

"I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea," Microsoft Game Studios Corporate Vice President Phil Spencer told IGN. "I'm going to think about it from the customer's perspective, and are we really delivering something of value to the customer at a price that they want?"

"We obviously have a lot of new things going on, so the thought of re-doing a bunch of things is probably difficult to just weave into the overall portfolio. If you can provide real value to the customer, there could be possibilities for that, but I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it."

Among the most important titles made for the original Xbox we have the first Halo: Combat Evolved title, as well as Halo 2, not to mention the original Fable or the first Project Gotham Racing titles.

Even if the Xbox 360 is backwards compatible and some of these titles can be downloaded through the Xbox Classics section in Xbox Live, plenty of gamers would certainly pay a bit more to experience the new titles in high definition on the Xbox 360.

What say you? Would you like remastered HD collections like Halo ones for the current console or should Microsoft just focus its efforts on delivering all new experiences.
