Respawn Entertainment founder Vince Zampella has officially debunked the recent rumor that Microsoft bought the rights to the Titanfall franchise, confirming that the studio and Electronic Arts are the sole proprietors of the first-person shooter.

Titanfall amazed lots of gamers earlier this year when it was showcased at different gaming events around the world for the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

After confirming that the game will be exclusive to those platforms, a new report appeared yesterday claiming that Microsoft bought the rights to the Titanfall franchise and that the sequels will only appear on the Xbox One.

Respawn founder Vince Zampella took to Twitter and denied the report, confirming that Respawn and EA still own the franchise and that, once Titanfall is done, it will then start thinking about potential sequels or other games.
