Microsoft is putting the finishing touches on an overhaul of its cloud operating system. Windows Live Home is the center of gravity for the Windows Live platform. And with the Redmond company moving the suite of products and services under the Windows Live umbrella into the next stage of evolution, the home page of the cloud operating system was not ignored. "As you probably know by now, Windows Live Home is the central page for Windows Live on the Web. It provides an easy jumping-off point to all your Windows Live web services and gives you at-a-glance status for some of them. On the Home page, you can quickly check for new e-mail, new comments on your blog, or updates from your Spaces friends without having to go to each of those pages," revealed Antonia B. from the Windows Live team.

The redesign is focused on providing access to the luxuriant variety of Windows Live products and services. In this manner, Microsoft exemplifies the true nature of an online platform of Windows Live, because the company's cloud operating system is by no means a set of disparate offerings, but rather a continuum that stretches from the Windows client platform online. Sure, Microsoft provides a range of free downloads such as Windows Live Messenger Mail, Photo Gallery, Toolbar, Family Safety, and Writer that are all set up to integrate seamlessly with the Windows operating system, but Windows Live is a platform onto itself, not merely an extension of the desktop Windows products.

Friends' updates: Now you can see more specific info about your Spaces friends, like who they've become friends with, and what photos they've added recently", Antonia added.
