A few days ago, Microsoft provided a series of details on its latest Dynamics CRM Service Update, announcing that it has decided to delay the release of some features to the fourth quarter of the year.

Apparently, the availability of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobile and cross-browser support will arrive later than expected, based on the feedback received from customers.

Initially, Microsoft announced that the CRM client for iPad, iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone devices was set to arrive as part of its Q2 2012 service updates sometime in the April-May timeframe.

The Q2 2012 service update for Microsoft Dynamics CRM will be released on July 19th, and will bring along Microsoft SQL Server 2012 support, Industry templates and certifications for the company’s online service, just as previously announced.

"After listening to the feedback from our customers and partners we are delaying availability of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobile and cross-browser support,” Microsoft’s Dennis Michalis notes in a recent blog post.

“These were previously scheduled to be delivered in the Q2 2012 Service Update, and we now plan to deliver them in the service update scheduled for Q4 2012.”

Dennis Michalis also explains that the upcoming Q4 update for the service will be set to provide users with a much better experience when it comes to mobiles and cross browser.

"At the heart of the Q4 release we are focused on delivering a more compelling customer experience in mobile and cross browser. A Q4 2012 Service Update Release Preview Guide detailing the new capabilities and interface will be published this summer,” he states.

He also notes that the merging of the two updates is destined to provide a better experience by combining the cross-browser support with user interface enhancements that have been already set to arrive in the Q4 2012 Service Update.

“We firmly believe that this updated plan puts us in a better longer-term position to deliver high quality solutions and capabilities that will excite our customers and partners,” Michalis concluded.
