There still is a lot of work to do, as some features do not function as intended

Internet Explorer 11 is part of the new Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, which is supposed to be released for the general public this summer. However, early adopters already have access to what the mobile browser has to offer.

Still, given the fact that not all Windows Phone users have access to Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft has decided to highlight some of the most important changes included in the mobile browser.

Those who own a Windows Phone 8 device, but did not want to upgrade to 8.1 should know that Internet Explorer 11 is much faster than the previous version.

Unfortunately, there is still a lot of work to do on the Internet Explorer 11, as some features do not function as intended, while others need to be implemented.

According to Microsoft, its “team has been laser focused on delivering a massive upgrade to four key areas of your browsing experience: quick site access, fast and fluid browsing, safety and privacy, and accessibility.”

One of the most important improvements over the previous version of Internet Explorer is the removal of the number of tabs you are allowed to open in a single browsing session.

Until now, you could only have up to six tabs opened at the same time, but in Internet Explorer 11, this limit has been removed and you can now open as many tabs as you would like.

Moreover, Internet Explorer has been especially developed to be able to sync browsing data across phone, tablet and PC. The browser will be able to sync favorites, history, passwords, as well as open tabs.

Microsoft has also improved on the previous version of Internet Explorer and has introduced “live pinned websites.” Even though you can pin sites to homescreen in IE 10, they are static and don't look so good at all.

With Internet Explorer 11, things have been improved, so users will now benefit from rich website icons, which even update themselves in the background, with the newest headlines and images.

Some useful tricks have been implemented as well, which will make using Internet Explorer 11 a much smoother experience. For example, users will now be able to swipe to go back and forward. In addition, you can also choose to save files downloaded online.

Frequent site and URL predictions are among the new improvements that have been included in Internet Explorer 11. Users will now be able to tap the address bar in order to get some of the most visited sites and click on any of them.

As many of you probably know, Internet Explorer 11 allows users to see videos right within the browser. The browser will continue to play a video even under the lock screen.

Keep in mind that these are not the only changes included in Internet Explorer 11, but as Microsoft points out, the browser is still a work in progress. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
