Recent rumors suggested that Microsoft was talking with Spanish football club Real Madrid on a potential new deal that would include the naming rights for its very own Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

While several sources confirmed the talks, María Garaña, president of Microsoft operations in Spain, told InsideSpanishFootball that Redmond wasn’t actually interested in such a deal and that the existing collaboration with Real Madrid only involved technology and innovation.

Microsoft, which already has an ongoing collaboration with Real Madrid, might actually use the football club for the launch of Xbox One later this month, but it won’t actually try to rename its stadium.

The Spanish football club, on the other hand, is currently in the process of expanding the maximum capacity of the stadium from 85,000 to 90,000 seats. What’s more, Florentino Perez, the president of the club, said last month that he was willing to sell the naming rights for the stadium to a sponsor willing to pay at least €400 million ($540 million).
